Pomona villager knocked down and killed

San Ignacio, CAYO. Wednesday, March 23, 2016. The family of 36 year old Ruben Puc is preparing to lay the Pomona village resident to rest.

Puc was knocked down and killed early on Sunday morning, March 20, between miles 10 and 11 on the Stann Creek Valley Road.

According to reports, an SUV knocked down Puc sometime between 5 am and 6 am.

He died at the scene and reports say the driver of the SUV, identified as 32 year old Lionel Castillo initially fled the scene, but later handed himself in to authorities in Dangriga.

Police have not yet indicated if charges have been brought against Castillo.

A wake for Ruben Puc is planned for Good Friday night and he will be buried on Holy Saturday.
