Semi-automatic rifle and shotgun stolen in burglary
Dangriga, STANN CREEK. Wednesday, March 21, 2018. A Sunday afternoon burglary the Sanctuary Bay Reserve in the Stann Creek district resulted in the a .223 semi-automatic rifle and a 12-gauge pump action shotgun being stolen.
The manager of the facility reported to police that the burglary happened between 12:30 pm and 1:20 pm on Sunday when someone broke into his office, which also doubles as an armory.
In addition to the rifle and shotgun, police say the burglar or burglars made off with a magazine for the riffle with 20 live rounds of ammunition; ten 12-gauge cartridges, a box containing 5.56 rounds and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The estimated value of the stolen loot, according to police, is $9,790.
Investigations continue.
