Drug trafficking charges for Belize City shopkeeper

Belize City, Belize. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Thirty-one year old Jermaine Rodriguez, a shopkeeper of 91 Lacroix Boulevard, was charged with 2 counts of drug trafficking when he appeared today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser.
Rodriguez pled not guilty to the charges.
He was offered a bail of $5,000 and his case was adjourned until July 21.
On May 21 the police went to Rodriguez residence and when they searched it they found two parcels containing cannabis in a clothes barrel.
One parcel had 74 grams while the other had 397 grams.
