Camalote, Roaring Creek and Unitedville are winners in weekend softball

Monday, April 18, 2016. Unitedville, CAYO. Week five of the Raymond Garbutt Sr. Women’s Softball Competition saw three big games played on Sunday in Unitedville village, Cayo.

In the first game of the day, Camalote pulled off an upset, defeating Belmopan Bandits by a score of five runs to four.

It was a battle of ace pitchers but in the end Keneisha Sutherland outlasted Lanisha Jones to take home the big W.

In game two, Roaring Creek Grace Kennedy behind another stellar performance by ace pitcher Leandra Guy, effectively shut down the Esperanza Wolverines, defeating them by a score of five runs to one.

Shareenie Soberanis is tagged with the loss.

And in the final game of the day, the host team Rebels United of Unitedville needed only three innings to dispatch of the Capital City Emeralds by a score of twenty one runs to one.

Nikita Perez picks up the victory, while Guadalupe Chicas is credited with the loss.

After five weeks of competition, the Roaring Creek Grace Kennedy and Rebels United of Unitedville are tied for first place with four victories and one defeat each; Belmopan Bandits occupy second place with three wins and two losses; Esperanza Wolverines and Camalote are tied for third with two victories and three losses each, while Capital City Emeralds are yet to record a victory in five outings.

The competition continues this coming Sunday with games scheduled to be played at the Debnigh Fuller Stadium in Camalote.
