Elderly man looses life in traffic accident in Belize City

The Phillip Goldson Highway has claimed another life as there was a road traffic accident early this morning in Belize City.

The name of the elderly man has not yet been ascertained; but reports are that he was riding his bicycle to work, when he was knocked down and killed.

The accident appears to be a case of hit-and-run.  It happened near the Gulf Hotel on the Phillip Goldson Highway.  Of note is that the area where the accident happened is right in between two speed bumps.

And what’s even more interesting is that the condition of the road would ordinarily force drivers to slow down.

Witnesses who was at the scene say that the man’s bicycle was broken is two by the force of the collision.

Police are yet to release any information on this incident.
