High school student wins Junior Cross Country Cycle Race

Sixteen year old high school student Ernest Bradley, is standing tall tonight having won the sixteenth annual Junior Cross Country Cycle Race.

Thirty three junior and youth riders pushed off from the starting point in San Jose Succotz village and rode along the George Price Highway, ending in Belize City.

According to a report published by the Belize Cycling Federation, Bradley of Smart Zoom Junior Cycling Team, finished the race in a record-breaking three hours, thirty minutes and fifty two seconds.

The Cycling Federation says that the Zoom team dominated Sunday’s race from start to finish.

The other top nine finishers in Sunday’s Junior Cross Country Race are Darien Anderson second, followed by Kaydine Pinelo, Anthony Marin, Yan Cattouse, Brian Sutherland, Shane Jones, Kory Ingram, Patrick Williams and Michael Grahalez.

Meanwhile, preparations continue for the eighty seventh annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic.

As part of the activities leading up to Saturday’s event, the 2015 parade of cycling superstars will be held on Holy Thursday starting at four thirty in the afternoon at the Court House Plaza.

From there the cyclists will slow-ride through the main streets of Belize City ending at the BTL Park.
