Increase in showers forecast for Thursday

San Ignacio, Cayo. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. A gusty easterly airflow is expected to become a bit more moist later tonight and on Thursday.

The general forecast for Belize and her coastal waters is for cloudy skies at times tonight and tomorrow morning.

Isolated thunderstorms will commence in the south at first, then spread to most areas in tomorrow morning.

Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be easterly at 15 to 20 knots, with higher gusts.

The sea state will be moderate to rough.Operators of small craft are advised to exercise caution in rough seas.  

Low temperatures tonight will be around eighty degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; seventy five degrees Fahrenheit inland and a cool seventy degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.

High temperatures on Thursday will be around eighty seven degrees Fahrenheit along coastal areas; ninety four degrees Fahrenheit inland and a comfortable seventy nine degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.

The tides: there will be a high tide at eleven thirty four tonight. This will be followed by a low tide at four-32 tomorrow morning.

The sun will rise at 5:19 am on Thursday. It will set at 6:29 pm on Thursday.

The extended forecast, valid through to Friday afternoon is for showers and thunderstorms to become isolated on Friday morning.
