Altercation ends in murder in Ladyville village

Ladyville village, Belize District. Sunday, April 26, 2015. An altercation at a bar in Ladyville village, Belize district on Saturday night has left one man dead, another hospitalized and two men in police detention.

The deceased has been identified as 41 year old Wilmer Antonio Cisneros.

30 year old Roger Jimenez is hospitalized at the Karl Heusner Memorial.

According to police reports Cisneros and Jimenez were socialising at the bar, situated between miles 8 and 9 on the Phillip Goldson Highway, when they were approached by the security officers for the establishment.

A misunderstanding reportedly erupted which escalated to an altercation during which Cisneros and Jimenez were stabbed.

Police say they have detained the two security officers pending investigations.  

Cisneros’ body now awaits a post mortem examination.

Police investigations continue.
