“The family is very disappointed.”

This is the sentiment of the family of Corporal Keith Pinnix this Monday morning as they called on the Ministry of National Security to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding the brutal beating of the BDF soldier on Saturday night in San Ignacio town.

The family is alleging that Corporal Pinnix was beaten unconscious by police and then dragged from in front of a nightclub to the police station and placed in a holding cell, even though he was injured and bleeding profusely.

A relative of Corporal Pinnix who says he witnessed the beating, claims to have in his possession a piece of one of the batons that was used to brutalize him.

An aunt of Corporal Pinnix called in to the KREM WUB morning show and related that the injured soldier was allegedly kept in the police cell block for about an hour before he was taken, unconscious to the San Ignacio community hospital.

The aunt furthermore claims that when the San Ignacio police took Corporal Pinnix to the hospital, that they claimed that he was found unconscious on the street, which is not so.

Corporal Pinnix was released from the KHMH around 4 pm on Sunday and the family says that police officers were there ready to take him into custody to the Racoon Street police station, reportedly on orders from the San Ignacio police.

However, the BDF reportedly stepped in and officers who were at the hospital took Corporal Pinnix into their custody and transferred him to the BDF hospital in Ladyville.
