UPDATED: Boat experiences difficulties near Punta Negra

Placencia village, Stann Creek. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. There are reports of a boat incident around midday today off the coast of Punta Negra.
The update to the story, contrary to what was reported earlier, is that the vessel carrying construction workers that was heading south, took on water and sank in shallow waters.
The boat did not capsize as was previously reported
Belize National Coast Guard personnel stationed at Hunting Caye have reportedly been deployed to render assistance.
