Belmopan. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Foreign Affairs ministers from Latin American and Caribbean States met this week in Quito, Ecuador.

The seventh meeting of the regional grouping discussed proposals for the region to develop a cooperation Agenda 2020 which seeks to establish a platform of strategic priorities and objectives common to all of the thirty three members states of the regional body.

Coming out of Tuesday’s meeting were areas identified for cooperation, among them the reduction of poverty and inequality, education, science and climate change.

Further analysis and discussion of the initial proposal will now be carried out among members states leading to a potential finalization on the way forward.
