San Ignacio, CAYO. Monday, January 9, 2017. A strong high pressure ridge is the dominant factor in our weather at the start of the work week; which means that the weather will be on the cool side for the first part of the week.

The general forecast for Belize and her coastal water is for variably cloudy skies along with cool and mostly dry conditions.

Light rain is expected over coastal areas of the country late this evening.

Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be northerly to northeasterly at between 10 and 20 knots, producing moderate to rough sea conditions.

Operators of small craft are advised to exercise caution in rough seas.

High temperatures today will range from 78 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast to 80 degrees Fahrenheit inland. It will be a comfortable 70 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.

Marine conditions will see tides low at 12:56 pm and high at 7:17 pm.

The sunset is at 5:34 pm. The moon rises at 3:06 pm.

The extended outlook through to Wednesday is for mostly cloudy skies with a few light showers or periods of rain mainly along coastal areas of the country.
