Man chopped in the face as he slept in bed

A man from Mahogany Heights village in the Belize District has survived a brutal home invasion that the police are classifying as a case of attempted murder.

Police say that just after midnight on Friday morning a man entered the bedroom of Kenneth Flowers and chopped him in the face and head. 

When officers from the Hattieville police station visited the crime scene around 12:30 am Friday, they found Flowers bleeding profusely with 3 large chop wounds to his face.

Flowers was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City where he remains admitted to ward in a serious but stable condition.

Police say they have detained to young men from Mahogany Heights village pending the outcome of their investigations which is ongoing.
