Orange Walk teacher commits suicide

A school teacher residing in Trial Farm village, Orange Walk is reported to have taken his own life. 

The body of Julian Chi, 28, was found hanging from an electrical cord in his bedroom on Wednesday night by his wife. 

According to police, the grieving wife told them that around 11 pm on Wednesday, Chi went into his bedroom to go to sleep.

When the wife went into the bedroom about 15 minutes later, she made the horrifying discovery of her husband hanging from the electrical cord.

Police say the wife managed to loosen the cord and call for assistance from the neighbor, but there was nothing that could be done to save Chi’s life. 

Police say no foul play is suspected and the body now lies at the Northern Regional Hospital awaiting a post mortem examination.
