Placencia, STANN CREEK. Monday, January 4, 2015. TNC: Police in Placencia village, Stann Creek district have taken a weapon off the streets in the community.

Around 11:30 am today, based on information received, members of Placencia’s Quick Response Team (QRT) visited an area near the Placencia Hotel.

A security guard had reported that a 39 special revolver was found and the authorities were called in.

Police say they observed that the weapon showed some degrees of corrosion.

No one was in the area where the weapon was found, and the revolver was taken to the Placencia police station and labeled as “found property.”
