Belize City, Belize. Wednesday, July 1, 2015. A new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Christian Workers Union and the Central bank of Belize covering the Bank’s security officers was signed on Tuesday afternoon in Belize City.

At the signing, the president of the Christian Workers Union Audrey Matura Shepherd said that much credit needs to be given to the members themselves who were engaged in drafting of the Agreement.

Central Bank Governor Glenford Ysaguirre in his remarks voiced satisfaction with the businesslike and cordial fashion in which the negotiations proceeded leading up to yesterday’s signing.

He also expressed the hope that the pending CBA to cover the rest of the Central Bank’s, also represented by the Christian Workers Union as a separate Bargaining Unit, will follow a similar course once negotiations start in July.
