Stepfather accused of sexual abuse of a minor

Dangriga, STANN CREEK. Monday, April 11, 2016. From time to time we report on the sexual abuse of minors and each time one of these reports comes up in the news, it seems like the depravity of the crime gets worst.

Tonight the story is of an atrocious incident of sexual abuse, not just of a minor, but a child that is afflicted with cerebral palsy and is unable to speak or walk.

The incident happened in the Stann Creek district and from all accounts was not an isolated incident.

Police say that the child’s mother reported that at the end of last month, she arrived home from work and saw that her daughter was sad.

The mother told authorities that the 15 year old girl indicated that her stepfather has been molesting her whenever the babysitter would leave the house and she was alone with him.

A medical examination of the teenage girl was carried out and the doctor certified that the girl had been sexually abused.

Police investigations continue.
