SUV and motorbike collide; man dies

A man from St. Matthew village in the Cayo district lost his life on Saturday evening in a road traffic accident. 

The victim has been identified as Vicente Petronillo Santos, 38. 

Reports are that Santos was driving a motorcycle on the George Price Highway around 5 pm on Saturday when there was a collision with an SUV that was heading in the opposite direction.

The incident happened near the junction of the More Tomorrow village road and the George Price Highway.

The impact of the collision flung Santos into the bushes at the side of the road and left him with serious head and body injuries. 

Santos was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan where he died a few hours later.
