Teenage girl attacked in Corozal

Corozal Town, Belize. Sunday, September 20, 2015. Police in Corozal are investigating the attempted rape of a 15 year old girl.

The teenager, accompanied by her mother, went to the police station to report that the on Friday evening round 5:30 she was walking on a footpath near the football field in San Roman village, Corozal, when she was grabbed from behind by a man she recognizes.

The girl says that another man covered her mouth.

She says that she recognizes both of her attackers.

According tot he 15 year old girl, one of the men said they were going to rape her, but she managed to bite one of her attackers on his arm and stomp on his feet which allowed her to escape his grip.

She pushed away the other man and then ran away.

Police investigations continue.
