The National Garifuna Council meets to prepare for annual convention

Belmopan. Monday, April 13, 2015. Gwen Nunez Gonzalez Reporting. The Board of Directors of the National Garifuna Council met over the weekend to continue preparation for its Annual Convention, which is slated for May 22-24th in San Pedro town, on Ambergris Caye.

The San Pedro Branch of the Council in partnership with the San Pedro Town Council is hosting for the first time.

Representatives from the ten branches are expected to gather for the three days of worship, discussion, celebrations, and planning.

The Convention is the highest body of the Council and during the event the Venue for the National Miss Garifuna Belize Cultural Pageant is selected, theme for the November 19th Celebrations is chosen, resolutions on the way forward are tabled, discussed and voted upon among other significant matters.
